Naguru, Kampala – The political landscape in Lango Sub-region witnessed a significant shift today as former Kole District Woman MP aspirant, Akech Loy Dorothy, officially declared her support for Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba's 2031 presidential bid .
Akech joined millions of supporters who thronged the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) headquarters in Naguru for a major mobilization event that also marked the launch of the PLU official website and online membership registration apps .
The event was graced by Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya, and hundreds of MPs, underscoring the growing momentum behind the Gen MK 2031 project .
"Today I stand with the people of Kole District and the entire Lango Sub-region to say Gen MK Juu! Mzee Juu! NRM Juu!" Akech declared, as she led a contingent of supporters from the region .
Akech, who has been a prominent advocate for women's leadership and youth empowerment in Kole, has been actively bridging grassroots concerns with national politics . Her endorsement comes amid intensified campaigns, with PLU targeting 20 million signatures nationwide to formalize the grassroots movement for Gen Muhoozi .
Former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya, who also addressed the gathering, hailed PLU as an inclusive movement poised for rapid growth similar to the NRM in its formative years . Deputy Speaker Tayebwa emphasized that Gen MK's candidature enjoys full support from the President and all NRM CEC members, urging critics to stop targeting the First Son .
Chairman Toyota Nuwagira announced the launch of what he termed "The MK Movie," declaring that the next months will be critical for the movement as it consolidates support across the country .
