LIRA, UGANDA – In a significant display of traditional authority, Mr. Emmy Joe Odongo, the Clan Head of Okii Raki Okwerocobo, has received a resounding welcome and overwhelming support from his subjects in Itek Sub County, Lira District.
During a high-profile visit that covered the villages of Obot, Tetyang, and Oyitodero, Odongo was met with cheers, love, and a total confirmation of his leadership. The tour was intended to solidify his administration's connection with grassroots clan members and outline his vision for the community.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowds, Odongo emphasized his commitment to unity and development. "I have come to lead and unite the members of Okii Raki Okwerocobo. I will stand with you," he declared. He struck a firm tone regarding the management of clan finances, issuing a stern warning to those he described as rogue executives. "I will not allow anybody to collect money from my clan members. Any executive who tries to do so will be dealt with seriously."
The Clan Head also addressed political opposition within the clan structure, warning detractors to cease what he termed "threatening" behavior against his supporters. "Those who are opposing my leadership must stop threatening my people. Whoever continues to do so will face the law," Odongo stated.
The visit also saw strong endorsements from two key figures in the clan leadership. Mr. William Onyanga, the Minister of Education for the Okii Raki Okwerocobo clan, threw his weight fully behind Odongo's administration. Onyanga directly challenged the opposition, calling for an end to hostilities and hinting at potential accountability measures.
"I ask those who are opposing the leadership of Odongo to stop," Onyanga said. "If they continue, we will ask them to account for the 15,000 shillings they collected from our households under the pretense of using it for the development of the clan. They swindled that money." Onyanga praised Odongo as a "good leader" who will bring tangible development to the community, insisting that his leadership is the "best" path forward.
Further solidifying the support base, Professor Geoffrey Ojok Opio, the Speaker of the Okii Raki Okwerocobo clan, addressed the gathering with a message of restraint and confidence. He urged supporters of Odongo to remain calm and not engage in abusive behavior toward the opposition.
"Those who support Emmy must not abuse those opposing his leadership," Professor Opio advised. "They are very few, and they are fading like the morning dew that disappears after the sunshine rises."
The visit marks a decisive moment for the clan's leadership, with Odongo clearly positioning himself as the central authority while his allies work to marginalize dissenting voices.
