KAMPALA – As East Africa pushes for deeper economic integration and stronger regional institutions, a new aspirant for the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) is making the case for leadership that transcends national borders.
Dr. Kisembo Ronex Tendo has officially thrown his hat into the ring for Uganda's slot at the EALA, running on a platform he calls "The Leadership East Africa Deserves."
But his campaign is far from traditional. Dr. Tendo, known for his work in cultural diplomacy, Kiswahili promotion, youth empowerment, and cross-border entrepreneurship, argues that regional progress requires more than political titles.
"Leadership is not measured by titles but by impact," his campaign statement reads. "It is measured by the ability to bring people together, create opportunities where others see obstacles, and inspire confidence in a shared future."
Unlike conventional aspirants who focus on national politics, Dr. Tendo's pitch centers on building bridges across cultures, economies, and institutions. He emphasizes that true East African integration begins with shared identity – starting with Kiswahili – and extends to trade, investment, and social cohesion.
"East Africa's ambitions cannot be achieved by leaders who think only within national boundaries," his team added.
As the EALA elections approach, Dr. Tendo positions himself not merely as a candidate but as a builder of the unity he believes will define the region's future.
