KAMDINI, OYAM DISTRICT – The Territorial Police in North Kyoga Region are investigating a murder incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 15, 2025, in Kamdini Town Council.
The deceased has been identified as Majid Bonny Ramathan, a 50-year-old driver and resident of Adjumani District. His body was discovered with a deep stab wound to the chest at the Nairobi Bar and Hotel along the Kamdini-Gulu Road.
According to a statement released by the North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, the incident was reported to police after the victim had initially been reported missing earlier the same day. The body was found at approximately 12:05 AM.
Preliminary investigations point to a violent altercation. A bar attendant at the establishment, identified as 28-year-old Arebo Esther, informed police that the deceased was stabbed by her former boyfriend, 35-year-old Abila Denis, also known as Adupa Bonny. Denis, a boda boda rider from the same area, was subsequently traced and arrested.
Police have registered a case of murder. A team of detectives and uniformed personnel, led by the Officer in Charge of Kamdini Town Council Police Station, visited, examined, and documented the crime scene. The district CID team later reinforced the efforts.
"The body of the deceased was conveyed to Anyeke Health Centre IV Mortuary for a postmortem examination," stated SP Okema. "Two suspects are currently in custody to assist with investigations."
The two individuals in custody are believed to be the alleged assailant, Abila Denis, and the bar attendant, Arebo Esther, who is considered a key witness.
Investigations are ongoing as police await the postmortem report and record additional statements from relevant witnesses. Authorities have promised to provide more updates in due course.
