Endorsements Not Given Lightly :Veteran EALA Lawmaker George Odongo Endorses Dr. Kisembo Ronex Tendo

ARUSHA, Tanzania – In the high-stakes politics of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), endorsements are never handed out carelessly. They are earned through years of trust, proven competence, and an unshakable vision for regional integration.

That is why the political landscape shifted this week when Hon. George Odongo, a senior and respected voice in the Assembly, publicly threw his weight behind Dr. Kisembo Ronex Tendo, who is vying for a seat at the regional legislative body.

Speaking from the vantage point of his extensive experience in Arusha, Hon. Odongo made it clear that this was no ordinary political gesture.

“From the vantage point of experience in this Assembly, endorsements are not given lightly,” Hon. Odongo stated. “When a senior voice like mine backs Dr. Kisembo Ronex Tendo, it signals tested confidence, credibility, and regional readiness.”

According to Odongo, the decision to support Dr. Kisembo goes beyond mere political alliance. He described it as a deliberate statement on the future leadership of the East African Community.

“This is more than support,” Odongo emphasized. “It is a statement of who can drive East Africa forward.”

Dr. Kisembo Ronex Tendo, widely regarded as a technocrat with a deep understanding of regional trade, health, and governance protocols, has been building a campaign centered on results-driven integration. His bid for EALA has gained traction among cross-border civil society groups and business leaders who argue that the Community needs fewer politicians and more problem-solvers.

In accepting the endorsement, Dr. Kisembo expressed humility and determination.

“Hon. George Odongo has seen leaders come and go. He knows what regional service truly demands,” said Dr. Kisembo. “To have his trust is to carry a greater responsibility. I am ready to serve.”

Political analysts note that Odongo’s backing could prove decisive, particularly among undecided delegations who value institutional memory and legislative integrity.

With EALA facing critical dossiers—including the impending Monetary Union and the full implementation of the Common Market Protocol—supporters of Dr. Kisembo argue that now, more than ever, the region needs tested hands with fresh energy.

As the campaign heats up, one thing is clear in Arusha: when Hon. George Odongo speaks, the region listens. And this time, he is pointing firmly toward Dr. Kisembo Ronex Tendo as the rightful person for the post.
