LIRA CITY, Uganda – The Outgoing Regional Police Commander (RPC) for North Kyoga, ACP Wesley Nganizi, officially handed over the office to his successor, SSP Hillary Mukiza, today at the Regional Headquarters in Erute, Lira City.
The handover ceremony, which took place at 10:20 AM, was witnessed by a host of senior officers including the Deputy RPC, Sector Commander, Regional CID (RCID), Regional CI Officer (RCIO), Police Spokesperson (PRO), Regional Human Resources Officer (R/HRO), Regional Community Liaison Officer (R/CLO), and the DPC of Lira City Central.
The transition marks the end of ACP Nganizi’s tenure in the region as he proceeds to a new assignment at Police Headquarters.
In a farewell message read by the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, officers and staff expressed profound gratitude to the outgoing commander for his exceptional leadership.
“Your tenure in North Kyoga has been marked by exceptional commitment, discipline, and professionalism,” read the statement. “You have been a dedicated leader who valued time management and ensured that every officer executed his or her duties and responsibilities according to appointment and mandate.”
The officers lauded ACP Nganizi for his integrity and firm stand against corruption, noting that his leadership demonstrated that public service must be guided by honesty, fairness, and professionalism.
The message highlighted ACP Nganizi’s outstanding coordination and mobilization skills, especially during special duties and operations, which greatly contributed to the success of the region.
The outgoing commander was also commended for his concern for the welfare of officers, notably his policy of allowing personnel time to visit their families and home villages.
“As you leave North Kyoga, we thank you for your exemplary service, guidance, and unwavering commitment. The positive impact you have made will remain with us for years to come,” the statement added.
The officers wished ACP Nganizi good health and success in his new appointment at Police Headquarters, expressing confidence that his next assignment will offer even more opportunities to serve and inspire.
The incoming RPC, SSP Hillary Mukiza, is expected to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor to ensure the continued safety and security of the North Kyoga region.
