Odokomit, Lira City West – A new chapter in Lango’s hospitality industry was written yesterday as Nelly Resort Hotel officially opened its doors in a colourful ceremony attended by business leaders, local officials, and community members.
Located opposite Totco in Odokomit, the hotel is already being hailed as one of the finest in the Lango sub-region, promising world-class comfort and refreshment services.
The guest of honour, Geoffrey Etwop, proprietor of Rhino Oil, urged the people of Lango to embrace hard work, citing the inspiring journey of the hotel’s director.
“All the development we see today is thanks to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for bringing peace. He must be thanked for that,” Etwop said. “But beyond that, we must work hard like Nelly Ekaa. Nothing comes from sleeping.”
The hotel’s director, Nelly Ekaa, moved many in attendance when he recounted his humble beginnings.
“I started my business selling charcoal. Later, I became a boda boda bicycle rider, then I sold clothes,” Ekaa said. “I constructed this hotel to give people comfort and good refreshments. Quality service is what we shall deliver.”
Ekaa emphasized that Nelly Resort Hotel was built with the local community in mind, aiming to set a new standard for accommodation, dining, and events in Lira City West.
Guests who toured the facility praised its modern design, clean environment, and professional setup. The hotel is expected to create jobs and boost local business activity in Odokomit.
“This is not just a building. It is proof that with determination, anyone can rise,” one attendee remarked.
Nelly Resort Hotel is now open for bookings and walk-in guests, with management promising competitive rates and unmatched hospitality.
