Kole Woman MP Judith Alyek Leads Lango Easter Call for Love, Reconciliation, and Renewed Hope

KOLE DISTRICT, Uganda – As Christians across the world joyously celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Woman Member of Parliament for Kole District and leader of the Lango Parliamentary Group, Hon. Judith Alyek, has delivered a stirring Easter message calling on the people of Lango to embrace love, unity, and repentance.

In her heartfelt address, Hon. Alyek underscored that the true essence of Easter goes beyond festivities and feasting. She warned that celebrating the resurrection without fostering unity among communities and individuals diminishes the season’s profound spiritual significance and could block divine blessings.

“Easter is a time for renewed hope and reconciliation,” Hon. Alyek stated. “Without unity, our celebrations are meaningless, and we risk losing the divine blessings that come with genuine togetherness. Let us mend broken relationships and stand as one people of Lango.”

The legislator, who has been a vocal advocate for regional development and social cohesion, also turned her attention to the younger generation. She inspired students and the youth across the Lango sub-region to focus deeply on their faith in Jesus Christ rather than being swayed or distracted by the pursuit of earthly possessions.

Hon. Alyek emphasized that true fulfillment and lasting joy are not found in material wealth but in spiritual devotion and moral integrity, especially during this sacred season. “Let your faith be your anchor. Do not lose yourself chasing temporary things. The resurrection gives us power over every darkness, including greed and envy,” she advised.

Her message has already begun to resonate widely. Across the Lango region, stakeholders from various sectors — including church leaders, district officials, and development partners — have echoed Alyek’s call for unity and reconciliation. Many are now advocating for peace, love, and togetherness as non-negotiable essentials for the region’s progress and prosperity.

As families gathered for prayers and fellowship, the collective message from Kole to the broader Lango region remained clear: unity and faith are not just religious ideals but vital pillars for spiritual growth and societal development. Hon. Alyek’s words serve as a timely reminder that the resurrection of Jesus Christ calls for deep reflection, sacrificial love, and renewed commitments to peace.

“Let the empty tomb remind us that hatred has no future, but love does,” Hon. Alyek concluded. “May the people of Lango rise together in faith and unity.”
