Ebola SOPs in Full Force as Anyacoto Nursery & Primary School Reports Surge in Pupil Turnout

Okwongodul Sub-County, Dokolo District – The headteacher of Anyacoto Nursery and Primary School, Moses Ogwang, has expressed profound gratitude to parents following a significant increase in pupil attendance this past Monday.

In a passionate address to the community, Ogwang confirmed that classrooms and dormitories are seeing greater numbers, signaling growing trust between families and the school. He specifically thanked parents for heeding the school’s call to return their children to class.

“We had greater numbers of pupils on Monday. Thank you, parents,” Ogwang said. “Your cooperation is encouraging, and it shows that you value the education of your children.”

Addressing ongoing concerns about health risks, the headteacher moved quickly to reassure the community that Anyacoto is strictly following all Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Ebola, which he described as “a serious disease.”

According to Ogwang, the school has implemented a rigorous handwashing regimen. Learners are now required to wash their hands before entering classrooms and dormitories, as well as every time they exit a classroom. In addition, the school has enforced strict distancing protocols to ensure pupils are not crowded.

“As teachers and learners, we are washing hands before entering classes and the dormitory. Coming out from the classroom, they wash hands again, and they are not crowded but distance properly,” he explained.

In a direct appeal to any hesitant parents, Ogwang pleaded with them not to assume the school is neglecting its duty.

“I beg parents not to think that as a school we are not protecting children from Ebola,” he said. “We are following all the guidance. The children are studying well, and their safety is our first priority.”

Local education officials in Dokolo District have praised Anyacoto’s model of combining hygiene enforcement with academic continuity, urging other schools to emulate the same balance of vigilance and community engagement.
