“We Are One Blood”: Clan Head Emmy Joe Odongo Warns Okii Raki Okwero Coboro Against Marrying Relatives

Lira District, Uganda – The clan head of Okii “We Are One Blood”: Clan Head Emmy Joe Odongo Warns Okii Raki Okwero Coboro Against Marrying Relatives Raki Okwero Coboro, Mr. Emmy Joe Odongo, has issued a stern warning to his clan members against marrying relatives from a neighboring clan, declaring that they are all one bloodline separated only by petty misunderstandings.

Odongo issued the directive yesterday while addressing clan members at a meeting held in Oruuinyamo Village, Gomi Parish, Agali Sub-county, Lira district.

Speaking before a gathering of his people, the clan chief explained that his primary mission is to reunite the children of Okii Raki Okwero Coboro who have become scattered among other clans, including Arak Okwero Coboro, Ober Okwero Coboro, and Arak Okwerolongo.

“No one from my clan should marry from Arak Okwero Coboro because we are related by blood. These people separated from us due to some small misunderstanding, but that does not change the fact that we share the same ancestors,” Odongo warned.

He noted that the ongoing intermarriages between the split clans were weakening the family lineage and vowed to continue his pursuit until all the related clans unite as one.

Beyond the marriage (prohibition), Odongo rallied his people to embrace education as a tool for transformation. He urged every family within Okii Raki Okwero Coboro to ensure they take their children to school.

“We cannot develop if our children remain uneducated. I call upon all parents to prioritize school enrollment,” he added.

The clan head’s dual message—preserving bloodline purity through prohibiting inter-clan marriage while pushing for modern education—drew mixed reactions from elders present, though many welcomed his broader vision of unity.
